Flow
This section is where I’d like to make some of my thoughts about tattoo available, as well as how I like to work.
One of my favorite qualities a tattoo can have is its openness. An open tattoo can suggest but also leave room for guessing. Interpreted and insinuated. I would like for my tattoos to invite other tattoos to coexist. I believe a tattoo being “open” is a step towards this. To be open is to have potential.
An open tattoo can create good opportunities for layering, I find this beautiful. I would love to layer onto other artist work and others to layer onto mine. An endless game of potential. I draw with this dynamic in my mind.
Each tatu leads to the next.
Id like to eventually incorporating freehand and freemachine into my process, pulling from flash and “ref” to create something unique directly on the skin. Drawing directly on the skin creates something unique to the clients body, the potential is endless. This requires a different kind of trust but could be beautiful and surprising.
I’m also interested in different forms of application, as well as material.
Bone tools, cactus spines, etc. for handpoking
Handmade machines
Ink made from natural objects
